Our 3 step approach in delivering customized UAV solutions
-
Mission
-
Mission requirements (not vehicle) is the primary determinant for our UAV solutions
- Such as flight endurance, operating environment (mountainous, desert, over water, high altitude, etc), need for VTOL capability, long loiter time, fast dash capability, low acoustic signature, all weather, etc.
-
Sensors
-
Vehicle
Factors to consider that increase overall acquisition cost
- Mission that require longer flight endurance
- Weather proofing
- higher grade vehicle components may need to be used
- avionics may need to be housed in an environmentally sealed avionics box, sometimes requiring its own internally cooling system
- Sensors
- EO/IR camera systems can be quite expensive
- Target range distance for ‘Detection’, ‘Recognition’, ‘Identification’ primarily determines sensor selection
- Video transmitter and receivers can add significant cost depending on analog versus digital, distance to ground station, video encryption, object tracking capability
- Auto tracking antennae system may be needed in certain situation particularly outside visual range
- High number of flight operations will require a more extensive spare parts kit
- Expense related to travel to a foreign country for set up and training
- (customer coming to GST facility near Atlanta Georgia is the most cost effective)
